Parent Handbook
This handbook is meant to be a tool both for new families and those already familiar to the club. New families can find information on all aspects of swim club function and activity. You will have information passed onto you throughout the season from both the executive and the coaches. Please use this handbook to keep all of your pertinent information in so it can be handy any time you need to review it.
Volunteering
Each family is required to contribute a minimum of 20 volunteer hours over the course of the season. Competitive swimming is unique in its reliance on a dedicated team of volunteers—including officials, timers, marshals, and general support—to ensure the smooth running of meets.
To reinforce this commitment, a post-dated cheque of $500 is required from each family before swimmers may begin summer practices and competitions. This cheque will only be cashed if the family does not fulfill their volunteer hours.
If your current circumstances prevent you from volunteering, you may opt to have your cheque cashed in lieu of completing the required hours.
Thank you for supporting our team and helping us create a successful season for all swimmers!
Stroke and Turn Clinics
We need of all hands on deck (literally and figuratively). Officiating is a way to earn your volunteer hours, and give back to the dedicated swimmers. But this takes a bit of training. Stroke and Turn Clinics are a great way to dip your toes into officiating, and they are free! New officials are given opportunities throughout the season to shadow seasoned officials coming to shadow and then help out. And bonus, shadowing, and the stroke and turn clinic also count towards your volunteering hours!
